So, I may or may not have gone to Spotlight on the weekend to get myself a zip for a party dress that I was throwing together. And rumour has it I may possibly have purchased myself a lil sumfin' sumfin' from the fabric stash. There was 40% off, people! I could not hold myself back! The fact I came away with only three types of fabric is a testament to my upcoming trip to the States saving plan... (side note: any epic suggestions for New York fabric/notions stores super welcome. I'm so excited!)
So here is what I like to think is the Skittles of the cheap and cheerful poplin world:
How adorable are these spots? Yes, I am developing a polka dot addiction. And heck no it is NOT a problem! I'm going to make a wearable muslin of the Colette Jasmine from this bad boy. The poplin will be a bit thick but at least I can get a feel for the pattern with cheap yet adorbs fabric.
But let's get to the main event. This next fabric may actually melt your face off with awesomeness. May I recommend that as you scroll down you cast surreptitious glances at the screen or peer from behind sunglasses? Drum roll, please!
And finally, a little preview of the other frock I threw together on the weekend. I can't wait to share this with you!
* Actual free candy mentioned in the title is imaginary. Enjoy responsibly!

Why is it that polka dots are just so irresistable? Also, the tiny houses are beyond adorable!
I have the same love affair with polka dots as well. Nothing to be ashamed of :)
Hi RTW- I am also trying to work out the attraction of polka dots. I figure it must be subliminal....
Madalynne- it makes me feel better that others share the spotty addiction... maybe we should all start a support group? Could be a winner!
Envy, I'm wading in it.
Ms Pink, this is normal when tiny houses and polka dots are involved, I feel!
I so totally have the house print as well! I went a bit crazy in Spotlight too and now have fabric I love in a colour that totes does not suit my complexion. Sigh... maybe it needs to go to a better home... one where it will fulfill its purpose as a garment... Just found your blog and love!
It's so rad, Jillian! I've used some of my crazier prints for linings which is always lovely. I love having a secret feature to pieces I sew :D
