Hello from Washington!

It's 11:30 pm at night in DC. And you know what that means? This crazy lady is trying to do a blog post by iPhone in a hotel room with patchy wifi. Crazy times kids. So please be kind to any horrendous format/font/miscellaneous problems. Well, except for poor spelling and grammar. In that case, school me!

Thought I would show my commitment to my me-made travel wardrobe because as we know I do like a little show off...

First off is Hazel. I literally sewed this up the day before I flew out. She has not been fitted properly and is more a wearable muslin but I am so glad that I made her as it is 30 odd degrees here and sticky. And not in the fun sticky date pudding way... So here Hazel and I are in front of the White House. Total West Wing fan girl moment.

This Hazel is made out of Ikea curtain fabric that I used as picnic blankets for my wedding.

And on day two I've been wearing a Parfait which I made out of an epic flower print around the new year. These lovely chaps at the Arlington Cemetery offered to be part of the picture while they waited to be back on duty to fire the canons for President Obama's exit.

So, that's that. I have a feeling this formatting is going to be funky but that's how I roll now. You know you love it!

  1. Looks like you're having a great time. I'm a huge fan of The West Wing so I'm very jealous. I'll have to dig out my box set and watch it again - I think it's been about a year. Tell POTUS he has a funny name :)

  2. I realised after posting my previous comment that to someone reading who hasn't watched The West Wing this could sound as though I am commenting on Obama's name - I'm not - it's a (paraphrased) line from the very first episode of The West Wing.
